If using the Dry Transfer Method
Step 1 – Make sure
that the decal is properly stuck to the transfer tape before installing the
decal. Take the squeegee (driver license
or credit card) and press firmly over the entire surface of the face of the
decal while it is still laying flat on the table.
Step 2 – Clean the
surface thoroughly. The cleaner the
surface the easier the installation will be.
Step 3 – Align the
graphic on desired surface and place a piece of tape on the top of the transfer
tape. This will create a hinge for
removing the paper backing.
Step 4 – Lift the graphic
up and gently pull the paper backing off.
This will expose the adhesive graphic.
Be sure to pay close attention that the graphic remains on the transfer
tape.
Step 5 –
Firmly hold graphic by the corners and slowly flip back down so that adhesive
is against surface. Once the decal
touches the glass or paint, it cannot be moved again!
Step 6 – Use
your squeegee (driver license or credit card) and press the graphic
firmly. Start from the center and work
your way out towards the edges forcing all air out.
Step 7 – Remove
the clear transfer tape by pulling straight back. Be sure to pay close attention that the
graphic remains on the surface. If
graphic comes off with the transfer tape, repeat step 5.
Step 8 –
Using your fingers, check all edges of the graphic and confirm they are stuck
to the surface. If you have an air
bubbles, use a pin and poke a small hole, allowing air to escape. The bubbles
may disappear after a day or two.
If Using the Wet Transfer Method
Step 1 – Make sure
that the decal is properly stuck to the transfer tape before installing the
decal. Take the squeegee (driver license
or credit card) and press firmly over the entire surface of the face of the
decal while it is still laying flat on the table.
Step 2 – Trim away
the transfer tape so that the tape is about (within 1/2") the size as the
decal.
Step 3 – Clean the
surface thoroughly. The cleaner the
surface the easier the installation will be.
Step 4 – Using a
spray bottle containing only water, wet the area where decal is to be applied.
Step 5 – Remove
the paper backing and place the decal to the thoroughly wetted surface. The decal can now be moved and repositioned
correctly; it should slide on a thin layer of water trapped between the vinyl
decal and the surface.
Step 6 – When the
decal is in the desired location. Use
your squeegee (driver license or credit card) and press the graphic
